On a busy working day in Sydney’s bustling CBD we meet the beautiful Anna Heinrich at Sydney’s latest hot spot. Renowned Italian restaurant Machiavelli has created it’s sister venue Mach II. A younger, hipper take on contemporary Italian cuisine Mach II has an open style restaurant space featuring beautiful antipasto plates and modern twists on the traditional Italian menu. And, if you’re busy, grab a takeaway coffee from the front window and order an ‘anti-pack’, the perfect takeaway, featuring fresh Italian produce to nibble on at your desk or in the park. At night, wander downstairs into the stunning exhibitionist style basement bar. Sip on a cocktail and relax by the fire. Today, we are meeting lawyer, Anna Heinrich, most famous for winning The Bachelor and finding true love with the beautiful Mr. Tim Robards. As she sips on champagne we talk all things life, love, law and of course, all her favourite go to spots as a corporate girl.
How do you find out whereto go and what to do in your every day life?
Finding out where to go can be difficult for me. I work full time and I am constantly on the look out for great new places to go. It’s frustrating having to look on recommendation websites but I like to look at the top ten places and decide from there. Tim is my go to man for what to do and where to go. He lives in Bondi so he’s in the know with all the great places. I speak to my Mum, Dad, sisters and friends regularly about new spots that I should visit.
What are your top 4 coffee spots in Sydney?
I am in Bondi a lot so I get my coffee from there. I love the coffee at Trio in Bondi and the view is incredible. It’s a great coffee spot after having done the Bondi to Bronte. The Depot in North Bondi has some excellent coffee and their ACAI’s are also very tasty. I also like Jackie’s in Paddington on a weekend and Grind on Oxford Street
Where do you and Tim Love going for dinner?
We go out in Bondi a lot. I am loving all the new restaurants that have only just popped up, namely, China Diner and of course China Doll in Woolloomooloo…can’t go wrong there. Tim and I also have pizza nights at Hugo’s because it’s right near his work and easy for me to get to from the city. They do great cocktails as well.
What is your favourite beach?
Obviously Bondi! I also love Bronte and Tamma too.
What is your favourite lunch spot?
I work in the Sydney CBD area around World Square. They have great sushi places for when I’m on the run. I love going to Din Thai Fung, which is quick, easy and delicious. For special occasions and corporate lunches we like to go to Mazzaro on Elizabeth Street. They have a delectable Italian menu and amazing fish. I usually order their Atlantic salmon fillet. Actually, I only ever order the salmon.
What is your favourite Sunday indulgence?
Tim! It’s the only day where we get to spend the entire day together and I love spending time with him. Whether its lounging around all day, going for a nice long lunch or doing activities together, I can’t get enough of him….DELICIOUS!
Where is your favourite place to have a dance/let your hair down in Sydney?
Any places you can recommend with an amazing VIEW/AMBIANCE?
A great new spot that’s opened up in Bondi is the Icebergs café. It’s got excellent coffee and its outdoor area looks right over Bondi and the Iceberg’s pool. Makes for a great insta! They have the Orchard Street Cleanse juices (try the breakfast one) and a scrumptious avo and eggs on toast.
What do you do for exercise?
Let’s start by saying, not nearly as much as TIM, he is one fit man! Sometimes I go to the gym with him but I also love walking. I enjoy doing big walks with friends and family around Bondi and other nice scenic routes. I’m starting to get into yoga aswell but I’m definitely no expert!!
Where is the nicest place that Tim has taken you/why?
On Valentine’s Day, Tim organised a very romantic picnic with harbour views. It’s always that much more special when a little thought and effort goes into it. He continually surprises me. He has obviously learnt a lot from The Bachelor.
How do you organize activities with friends?
If I want to go out with friends and family I usually text them to find out a good place to go, or if it’s a work function we use email! Sometimes it’s a bit difficult getting everyone together and usually involves a lot of long texts back and forth. Email is probably the most effective way.
What was the best moment of the Bachelor?
The best moment of the Bachelor was finally being able to be with Tim! It was an amazing moment when Tim chose me at the end. The best part about it was that we were able to spend three days alone together in Thailand. Funnily enough, we weren’t allowed outside our room because the show hadn’t aired yet.
What was the worst moment of the Bachelor?
The worst moment was definitely being away from my family and friends. We had to delete all forms of social media and we were only allowed one phone call every two weeks to our families. I definitely missed them a lot and sometimes when you weren’t picked for an alone date with Tim, or even a group date, you had to stay in the house for long periods of time.
How do you balance your busy life as a lawyer with your social life?
It’s a difficult balance because my job involves a lot of work. I balance my life by making dinner plans and lots of weekend activities to keep me busy. Some of my friends work close by to me so I can catch them for lunch or a quick coffee near my work. It’s extremely difficult to fit everything in at times.
AND what did you love about Machiavelli’s newest restaurant Mach II
I loved the young contemporary feel that Mach II has to offer. It had an excellent tapas menu and wine list and the place looked beautiful. The coffee was excellent too.
What was your favourite dish?
My favourite dish was definitely the pizza fritte, which was a delicious fried pizza!! Plus the lemon cello of course!
What do you like about Kolide?
Sometimes I have a lot of trouble finding out what to do on particular days. Yes, I can text all my friends and family but this takes time. I like how you can see what’s on every day of the week and you are able to put everything you like the look of into a favourite’s tab (MY KOLIDES). It’s so hard to remember all the good places to go in Sydney so I need a website that helps me to do that!
