Making Scents of it All.
Just like the wonder of fashion, scents have a huge impact on how we feel. A great scent can take us back in time to a fleeting moment or memory of joy and boy do we need that right now. We’ve come to collect some incredible scents over the years and thought we’d share some of our favourites with you. Guess what, you can order all of these online, from the safety of your home at our favourite store of all time, MECCA.
Le Labo 33.
Our first big investment, this is the kind of perfume that people will notice. From the first time we smelt this scent it was a immediate favourite.
At the time it was only available at limited stockists in Australia – it was that amazing we found people started being extra secretive about what it was and were told not to spread where to purchase it! Fast forward a few years and it’s no secret anymore! Still loved all the same. The mix of sandalwood, cedarwood, leather and cardamon stays on the skin for hours. You’ll only need one spray.
Replica – Springtime in a Park.
This beautiful bottle is inspired by classic apothecary jars with notes of lily of the valley, green blackcurrant, and the fruity effects of pear. The feeling of walking through a park in spring time is something we could definitely use a lot more of.
The fruity notes are definitely noticeable and settle lightly and sweet making it a great go-to scent for during the day.
The packaging doesn’t look too shabby on display which is always a great added bonus. I have personally paired mine on my desk right next to it’s sister – Replica Bubble Bath which is a beautiful baby blue colour!
By Redo – Slow dance.
Love everything By Redo and this scent is no exception. Unique in style, the warm balsamic and sweet honey-like aroma is perfect all year round. It defiantly warms towards being a more masculine/ aftershave scent which we tend to love but can understand it’s quite an acquired taste.
We visualise this scent as being the perfect everyday going to work scent or the type of perfume you would spray quickly before going out for a relaxed dinner.
Dyptique – Eau De Minthe.
This unusual yet alluring scent was inspired by the Greek myth where the infamous nymph Minthe was transformed into a fragrant mint plant by the god Hades. You’ll find notes of peppermint, geranium and patchouli which make this a lively and fresh fragrance.
This is the kind of perfume that seems to be appropriate for any occasion. It also sways to being more of a masculine scent so we find ourselves opting for it often as its relaxed notes makes it a no brainer for day and/or night events.
Replica – Bubble Bath.
Don’t let the name fool you as it’s definitely not as sweet as we imagined it to be. This is a very unique scent and the notes change the longer you let it settle. We tend to notice first soap, bergamot and pink pepper which then transpires into lavender flower, rose superessence and jasmine before the notes settle into patchouli, coconut and white musk. p>This is a perfume that we have fallen in love with the more we wear it.
A different take on the famous Gypsy water, Mojave Ghost is exotic, alluring and delicate.
Tom Ford – Black Orchard
The famous and unstoppable Black Orchard. The kind of Scent you stop people in the street for.
